The report includes recorded insurance write-off entries. Where a category has been recorded, RoadLux shows the category letter, the loss date, damage areas and insurer details where supplied, so you can judge how serious the damage was.
Category S means the vehicle suffered structural damage and was repaired or can be repaired. Category N means non-structural damage, which can still include safety-critical items such as brakes or steering. Categories A and B are the most severe and mean the vehicle should never return to the road.
The check queries the police stolen marker held against the registration. If an active marker is found, the report flags it clearly. Never buy a vehicle showing a stolen marker — you could lose both the car and the money.
Recorded odometer readings from MOT tests and mileage data providers are compared for inconsistencies. A reading that drops over time, or a sudden implausible jump, is a strong sign of clocking and can make a car worth far less than the asking price.
